Central
has fairly level grounds that include a fenced in area as well as open
range. Nestled in rural southwestern Pennsylvania, Central offers open
farmland for dog training that is only moments from large suburban shopping
centers.
On June
24, 2001 a Central field trial was featured in the Pittsburgh
Post-Gazette sports pages. This article gives a great overview of
field trialing and how they work. Read the article titled "Beagles
put inherent skill for tracking rabbits, working in packs on display."
NEW!
Central
has been working in cooperation with Pennsylvania state researchers
and entomologists to find a way to control disease in the state's rabbit
population. Our grounds have been used to study various ticks and work
on ways to control these dangerous parasites. Here's an article on the
work that's been done at Central so far on the issue. As always, ensure
that your dog is protected from fleas and ticks when running at any
club, this could be a start to solving the nationwide tick problem.
